Third Trumpet

Revelation 8:10-11

Rev 8:10  And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star (Attila, king of the Huns) from heaven, burning as it were a lamp (Attila wore brilliant colored cloths he regarded himself devoted to mars the God of war) and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, (running streams) and upon the fountains of waters; (Springs, Attila's invasions originated from the streams of the Swiss Alps and rivers flowing down from Italy)

Rev 8:11  And the name of the star is called Wormwood: (bitter consequences, Attila boasted that the grass never grew on the spot his horses trod, He called himself the scourge of God. He was a scourge to his enemies and the world.) And the third part of the waters (third of Roman Empire affected) became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

The Western Emperor with the senate and people of Rome, humbly and fearfully deprecated the wrath of Attila.  In addition, the concluded paragraph of the chapters that records Attila's history is entitled Symptoms of the Decay and Ruin of the Roman Government.  The name of the star is wormwood.
